On a Halloween Roll...

I can't believe this was almost 2 years ago...I was on bedrest awaiting our Christian boy, the kids attended a wonderful Halloween party hosted by friends every year. Campbell was Buckaneer Bones and Charlotte was a kitty...the costumes are decided on for this year and Charlotte and Christian will be "coordinating", Campbell wanted to be some horrifically, scary, evil thing and after many tears and unhappy discussions he has relented to a football player, praise God! Seriously, why do so many kids turn towards being something "evil", scary" or mean-spirited and don't even get me going on the girl costumes, half of the choices are slutty, cheap and totally inappropriate! I am old-school...I am all for dressing-up, I am all about make believe and spooky but there is a difference between spooky and evil, spooky in my opinion is a mummy and evil is the Devil/Satan, just my opinion but I think kids are exposed to way too much, too early these days and I'm gonna keep it pure and simple as long as I can...OK, on a lighter note we enjoyed a beautiful afternoon as a family at the Zoo, even though we just were there a few months ago, I think Christian really enjoyed it more this time and kind of "got it" he just loved being so close to all the animals and walking hand-in-hand with his brother and sister it was precious! Dinner out, kids bathed and tucked-in early has left lots of time tonight for Bryan and I (he's packing as I type) cause our Daddy is on the road again this week...we love you babe, travel safe and thanks for a fun weekend!

Two years, wow I can't believe it!!! Every single time I look at Christian, I am reminded of God's great love for us. I remember visiting you while on bed rest and the anticipation of his arrival...you were so amazingly strong. He is a blessing, which makes total sense, because you are a blessing. I look forward to spending some time with you on Thursday. Please let me know if I can bring anything:)

Oh, I totally agree with you on the whole "evil" costumes!! Why in the world do kids want to dress up in those?? Thank goodness neither of my kids were into any of those costumes...we have had some real creepy ones come to the door though! Your little ones are adorable and they are growing up fast! I was wondering if you could post your white chili recipe? I have never made that and it sounds so good!! :)

i agree. some of the costumes that kids choose I think if you put that on or saw it on any other day you'd be scared to death!! I was never one for gore ... i hated scary movies. so when i was a little girl I wanted to be a gypsy or a 'lady'... i am with you. and charlotte looks sooo sweet with her big old bow .. and her kitty costume of course!! xo
