On a Halloween Roll...

I can't believe this was almost 2 years ago...I was on bedrest awaiting our Christian boy, the kids attended a wonderful Halloween party hosted by friends every year. Campbell was Buckaneer Bones and Charlotte was a kitty...the costumes are decided on for this year and Charlotte and Christian will be "coordinating", Campbell wanted to be some horrifically, scary, evil thing and after many tears and unhappy discussions he has relented to a football player, praise God! Seriously, why do so many kids turn towards being something "evil", scary" or mean-spirited and don't even get me going on the girl costumes, half of the choices are slutty, cheap and totally inappropriate! I am old-school...I am all for dressing-up, I am all about make believe and spooky but there is a difference between spooky and evil, spooky in my opinion is a mummy and evil is the Devil/Satan, just my opinion but I think kids are exposed to way too much, too early these days and I'm gonna keep it pure and simple as long as I can...OK, on a lighter note we enjoyed a beautiful afternoon as a family at the Zoo, even though we just were there a few months ago, I think Christian really enjoyed it more this time and kind of "got it" he just loved being so close to all the animals and walking hand-in-hand with his brother and sister it was precious! Dinner out, kids bathed and tucked-in early has left lots of time tonight for Bryan and I (he's packing as I type) cause our Daddy is on the road again this week...we love you babe, travel safe and thanks for a fun weekend!

Pumpkin Muffins

1 can of Pumpkin (not Pumpkin Pie filling) , 1 Spice cake mix, and 2 eggs = heaven! Bake at 350 for approx. 8-10 minutes. If you want to make the muffins even yummier than make an easy glaze of 1 cup powdered sugar, 1/4 t. orange rind and 2 T. orange juice. Mix altogether and drizzle over cooled mufffins...perfect for the first official day of Fall! They are healthy and my kids love them...Enjoy!

Off to School

Ready to go...Daddy's foot!

The "apple" of our eye!

Baby brother will miss you!

New red Maryjane's...

A pencil hairbow I made to match her dress

Mrs. Romey - we love you!

Charlotte finally started back to preschool this week...the same teacher and classroom as last year, as well as many of the same classmates. She has been excited to reunite with everyone and especially her teacher, whoim she adores. However when we got to her Open House, she became so sad and afraid...she did not want to leave us while we went upstairs for a meeting. That paired with a new speech teacher did not bode well for a very happy day. But each day for her this week has gotten better and happier and she has become more comfortable! We love you so much Charlotte and are so proud of you. You are growing-up much too quickly, can't wait to see where this school year takes you!

Septemeber 11

God Bless the 3, 000 Americans that lost their lives 8 years ago today...I think it is so sad that 9/10 of my "neighbors" are not flying flags today. I personally vow to never forget the tragedy and despair of that day!
