E Mealz...

Have you heard of this?

I am so excited to be trying this plan...Saving money, having a meal plan and a grocery list (broken down by aisle no less) along with directions...I could not be more thrilled!  Its a win-win.  This Summer was alot of sammies, grilling, takeout...I am ready for Fall, to cook again and for everyone to come to the table together again...this takes all the guess work out for me! Woo hoo!  Head over and take a look...let me know if you plan to try it...

Despite laziness in the kitchen this Summer we did have great success with our garden...LOTS of tomatoes and cucs...and they have all been gobbled-up!  Looks like another good batch will be ready to go this week too!

Chipmunk Cheeks

Had my wisdom teeth pulled yesterday...resting today, although swollen and uncomfortable has not been too bad!  I have great friends and a wonderful husband who are taking good care of me and my little nurse Charlotte who has been a wonderful helper today...  I am catching up on blogging, reading and sleep!  This weekend I hope to watch some movies and rest up before hubby leaves town on Monday!  And for something fun to look at...check out these edible pencils...what a cute idea for the lunchbox!  Happy weekend!

School

The last weekend of Summer before school starts....it is rainy and cloudy so instead of the beach or the pool we are...

shopping, planning, sorting, donating, organizing, washing, packing and preparing...

Another school year begins...cannot believe I will have a 3rd grader and a 5 year old in Pre-K!  Time flies...but you knew that!

Jackson's Visit

This has been a fun week...my nephew and MIL visited from NC, we had a ball, stayed very busy and managed to jam pack a lot into a few short days.  I have been struggling with one of the worst Sinus Infections I have ever had but am happy to report that I think I am FINALLY turning a corner...Hard to believe that school starts in 1 week...still lots to accomplish between now and then!  I am ready to have a routine again though and a little less chaos...

So, here are just a few of the highlights from Jackson's visit...

Lots of pool and slide time...

A trip to Chicago and The Lincoln Park Zoo...

Early morning Wii tournaments...

Dinner at the famous Ed Debevik's in Chicago...

An entire day spent planning a KISS concert...complete with music, smoke, sparklers, make-up and a yard full of friends and neighbors to watch the show!

Rockin the house...

Rocker girls...they were the intermission show!

Jackson...we loved having you here...and so wish that we all lived near each other...know that we love you and miss you like crazy!

Tale of a Tub

So, I am the proud new owner of a claw foot tub...dating back to the 1940's...we found it on Craig's List for $100.  It definitely needs a deep cleaning, not sure if it might need a re-glazing...I am looking into that?!  All cast iron and 200lbs of a diamond in the rough...This is what it looks like in theory, but just imagine along of dirt, a stuck-on non-slip flower on the bottom, and some peeling paint on the outside...it will look beautiful when all is said and done!

Bryan and I are beginning our Master Bath renovation and I have always wanted a deep soaking tub and I am just over the moon that I now own one.  I am having fun gathering all the inspiration, quotes, colors and ideas...I hope to share all the details along the way...and if you know ANYTHING about claw foot tubs and the re-glazing process, please share, I would love to hear your thoughts!
