We're Off...

Bags are packed, toes are pedicured, hands are manicured, house is clean, kids are beyond excited and looks like we are Mexico bound in less than 24 hours!!! The Mexico weather is a lovely 87 degrees and sunny......Oh, we cannot wait!

Hope you all have a happy springbreak and time to enjoy the things you love...I know I will...my sweet (and very cute!) husband, my adorable kids, sun, sand, sandals, cute dresses, straw hats and fruity drinks by the sea! I do need a good book though, any suggestions?

A Pretty Little Playhouse

Shhh...don't tell Charlotte but her daddy is designing and building a playhouse for her birthday this June and this is our inspiration...fabulous!!!!

I had a playhouse growing-up, my best friend Claire had the same one too...our mom's made curtains it had a little play kitchen in it too...so special, many good memories in that playhouse and I want Charlotte to have that too. We also hope to put in a small veggie garden (next to it) complete with a wooden white picket fence (yes, that I picked from some one's garbage...I'm not proud!)...stay tuned!!

Inspiration...

Isn't this pretty? My bloggy friend, Lori has a wonderfully beautiful blog, I love her sense of style and taste, I just love everything on the blog as well as how it looks. Anyway, since getting my new laptop I have been trying so hard to best utilize my desktop space. I have a built-in desk in our kitchen and no matter how hard I try, ask and plead it still seems to be everyone dumping ground, never mind we have a rather great sized mudroom for just this purpose. I want the desk to be pretty, simple and functional, not cluttered, dis-organized and ugly. So, I continue to look for inspiration and ideas, space plans, etc...but Lori's board is lovely and I wish I could hang a board over my desk however the there is a big ol' plug right smack dab in the middle of the wall, leaving it pretty useless (and unattractive)! Anyway, if anyone has any ideas or thoughts, please share. I am on a big organizing, Spring cleaning/decorating kick, not really spending any money (saving for Springbreak) just trying to use what I already have to "update" things...stop by Lori's blog, you will not be disappointed! http://www.ajourneytoourdaughter.blogspot.com/

Lucky Day...

Louie the Leprechaun has already been to visit this morning and left the kids green goodies...I have pulled out all the green dishes and glasses for a festive St.Patty's Day dinner and the kids enjoyed an all green breakfast - yum!

bryan travels this week so hopefully i will still be able to tackle my list w/ out any derailment - the kids have a busy week too: ballet, playdate, flag football, field trip, march to the arts (school-wide art show), pizza w/friends prior to a trip to the notre dame planetarium, a birthday party and then the usual - school, speech therapy and lots of outdoor time - high 60"s this week AND sun, what is sun?! have a great week...and treat yourselves to some spring flowers - you deserve it! xoxox

An Affair...

I bet I got your attention with that title, huh...? I love this new book - I won it in a giveaway that one of my bloggy friends, Maureen hosted on her site (very cute, go visit! - www.maureeno6o8.blogspot.com) Anyway, the book is by Bunny Williams and it is fab! I love coffee table books and the photos and recipes are yummy - I have spent the last few weekends curled-up with this beauty and a hot latte! Whats you favorite "coffee table" book or where do you go for the best inspiration for your home? And again, thanks Maureen for such a thoughtful give away, I never win anything so it was very exciting!!!

Sunday...Friday's Post

So...how are you? Happy Friday!!! It is FINALLY nice here - just for the moment, 60's, sunny and the doors are open, I can hear the birds, praise God! My memory card is fry -ed, thus the lack of posts/pics of late, we are keeping busy around here though, never fear. I have been busy planning a trip to Mexico over Springbreak and and all that entails...b/c I am a planner after all! Christian seems to of really "mastered the art of walking these last few weeks and of course you know what that means...he is one foot out the door already, as a sweet little girl reminded me last night, he is now a Toddler - I say "no, no" all day and seem to accomplish nothing but trailing behind him, picking up mess after mess - straws and toilet paper are personal faves! Campbell is doing great in school and has a new found love for basketball - especially ND BB - go Irish. It's fun to watch him embrace and learn all about something new. He continues to enjoy Flag Football and we are ready for Spring soccer to start soon too! Charlotte is sweet and patient and thoughtful...still loving ballet and Barbies and dollies, she is loving preschool and especially her friends and wonderful teacher. She brings so much joy to this family! I am working on Easter decorations, finishing-up our Disney scrapbook and cleaning closets...so much to do these coming weeks. Can't wait for Spring to arrive, it has been a LONG winter!

****UPDATE - Sunday...well, so much for Friday's weather - it is chilly today, pouring rain (all weekend) and we are now wondering if we should "chance" a trip to Mexico in light of recent news/warnings about travelling to Mexico...what would you do?
